On 23rd of March 2015 coordinator Center for Peace, Non-Violence and Human Rights, Osijek organized, in its premises, the second national project partners meeting IPA 2011 “Civil Society for Accountable Governance”. The meeting was attended by partners from the Informative Legal Center, Slavonski Brod, the Serbian Democratic Forum from Pakrac and hosts the Center for Peace, Non-Violence and Human Rights, Osijek.
A key theme of the meeting was the selection of civil society organisations which have expressed an interest in involvement in project activities (training, monitoring, working in local platforms), and the contents of the training on good governance and anti-discrimination that will take place at the end of May 2015 in city of Zagreb.
It was agreed that in the coming days, all organizations (coordinator and national partners) will hold meeting with selected civil society organizations in six cities (Beli Manastir, Osijek, Slavonski Brod, Nova Gradiska, Pakrac and Lipik) in order to introduce them in the planned project activities, exchange the information about the potential local policies/strategies/action plans (related to target groups such as disabled persons, young people and children, national minorities, the Roma, women) and identify a preliminary list of potential participants.
In April they will also hold meetings with representatives of the local governments in those cities and representatives of public institutions related to the specified target groups, in order to be involved in training, monitoring, and work in local platforms, together with selected civil society organisations.
Center for Peace, Non-violence and Human Rights – Osijek, in partnership with the Informative Legal Centre from Slavonski Brod, the Serbian Democratic Forum, PAX from Utrecht (the Netherlands) and The Hague Academy for Local Governance (the Netherlands), from 30st of December 2014 implement a two-year project “Civil Society for Accountable Governance”, funded by the European Union – under the IPA 2011 Programme “Reinforcing Support of CSOs in Enhancing Transparency and Good Governance in Croatian Public Administration”.
